AccuraScience LB: A TSS group is a term referring to all transcripts that seem to begin with the same transcription start site (TSS). Because transcripts identified through RNA-seq data can be messy and may not correspond to known genes, this is a convenient way of identifying groups of related transcripts.
Mutation or SNV analysis can be performed on RNA-seq data, but it is not part of the “routine” RNA-seq analysis pipeline. It resembles exome data analysis, and involves the execution of GATK pipeline.
