One of the common questions asked by researchers is about our prices. While we can't give an accurate answer without knowing more about your specific sequencing analysis project and what you hope to achieve with our help (feel free to send us an inquiry anytime), we understand why this question comes up. As former academic researchers ourselves, we know firsthand the importance of finding cost-effective solutions for research projects.
You may be thinking that AccuraScience, being a commercial operation, must be expensive. However, this is not the case. While it's true that our Lead Bioinformaticians (LBs) are highly experienced experts and therefore have higher rates per unit of time compared to junior bioinformaticians, their expertise actually leads to cost savings in the long run. Because they have more experience and make fewer mistakes, they are able to achieve project goals more efficiently and in less time, ultimately resulting in a lower overall cost.
This isn't a new concept. In fact, Steve Jobs recognized the value of experienced professionals and only wanted "A players" on his team.
But cost-effectiveness at AccuraScience doesn't end with our LBs. We also have a team of highly skilled junior bioinformatics engineers (BEs) who handle most of the routine analysis work. This structure is similar to an academic setting, where faculty members (equivalent to our LBs) advise and direct projects, and postdoctoral trainees or senior graduate students (equivalent to our BEs) carry out more detailed work. Our BEs are the "A players" in their own category, and because they are less expensive than LBs, using them for much of the detailed work under the close supervision of our LBs helps to further reduce project costs without sacrificing quality. We pass these savings on to researchers using our services.
